About This Sacred Artwork

Our Lady of the Rosary stands with quiet humility, her gaze lowered as she holds the beads of the rosary. A white veil and cream gown are gathered beneath a deep blue mantle adorned with golden star-like accents, while a luminous halo, roses, and lilies frame her face. The surrounding Art Nouveau border rises with curling vines, blossoms, and warm golden light, giving the composition the feeling of a devotional window opened toward heaven. The rosary rests at the heart of the scene, inviting contemplation of Christ’s mysteries with Mary as mother and intercessor. It is an image of stillness, trust, and prayerful attention.

Sacred Tradition

History & Devotion

Devotion to Our Lady of the Rosary is rooted in the Church’s love for praying the mysteries of Christ with Mary. The Rosary developed over centuries as a meditative prayer joining the Hail Mary, the Our Father, and reflection on the life, Passion, and glory of Jesus. The feast now celebrated on October 7 is historically linked to thanksgiving for the Christian victory at Lepanto in 1571, first honored as Our Lady of Victory and later known as Our Lady of the Rosary. In Catholic devotion, Mary’s rosary is not an end in itself, but a gentle school of contemplation, leading the faithful more deeply into the Gospel through her maternal intercession.
