About This Sacred Artwork

Our Lady of Fátima is shown crowned and robed in white, standing amid radiant clouds with her hands joined in prayer and a rosary falling before her. Below, the three shepherd children kneel in reverence, their faces lifted toward the Blessed Virgin as golden light breaks through the sky. The pastoral setting, with sheep, wildflowers, and a small tree, gives the heavenly apparition a tender earthly setting. This composition invites contemplation of Mary’s maternal call at Fátima: prayer, conversion, peace, and trust in the mercy of God. Its quiet radiance draws the heart toward the Rosary and toward the attentive humility of the children who listened.

Sacred Tradition

History & Devotion

Devotion to Our Lady of Fátima comes from the reported apparitions of the Blessed Virgin Mary in 1917 near Fátima, Portugal, to Lúcia dos Santos and her cousins, Francisco and Jacinta Marto. The message of Fátima became closely associated with prayer, penance, conversion, devotion to the Rosary, and intercession for peace. Catholics honor Our Lady of Fátima on May 13, the date traditionally connected with the first apparition. Sacred images of this devotion often portray Mary robed in white, luminous and serene, inviting the faithful to return to God with confidence, humility, and persevering prayer.
