Three shepherd children, Lúcia dos Santos and her cousins Saint Francisco and Saint Jacinta Marto, said that the Blessed Virgin Mary appeared to them over a series of months. The Church has long received Fátima as an important Marian devotion, and its feast is observed on May 13.
