About This Sacred Artwork

The Sacred Heart of Jesus is shown in luminous stillness, His gaze gentle and direct as both hands draw the viewer toward His Heart. Crowned with thorns, aflame, and surmounted by a cross, the Heart shines from the center of Christ’s chest, filling the composition with golden light. A rich red mantle, intricate Art Nouveau arches, lilies, roses, and a small cross medallion frame the scene with devotional richness. The work invites contemplation of the love of Christ, a love wounded yet radiant, offered with mercy and steadfast tenderness. Its ornate setting gathers the eye toward the quiet center: the Heart that loves without measure.

Sacred Tradition

History & Devotion

Devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus contemplates the human Heart of Christ as a sign of His divine love, mercy, and self-giving sacrifice. Its roots are found in the Gospel witness to Christ’s love and in the pierced side of the Crucified Lord, from which the Church has long drawn Eucharistic and baptismal meaning. The devotion grew through medieval prayer and was especially spread in the seventeenth century through Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque and the promotion of the Jesuits. In Catholic prayer, the Sacred Heart calls the faithful to trust, repentance, reparation, and gratitude for the love of Jesus, whose Heart remains open to sinners and close to the suffering.

For Prayer

Prayer to the Sacred Heart

Sacred Heart of Jesus, source of mercy and burning love, draw my heart close to Yours. Teach me to trust in Your compassion, to repent with sincerity, and to love with patience. May Your wounded Heart be my refuge in sorrow, my strength in temptation, and my peace in every need. Amen.
