About This Sacred Artwork

The Sacred Heart of Jesus is presented here in a reverent, frontal portrait, His gaze calm and searching beneath a radiant golden halo. Clothed in red and blue, Christ raises His right hand in blessing while His other hand points to the glowing Heart upon His chest. The heart is crowned with thorns, surmounted by a cross, and encircled with warm rays of light, drawing the eye toward the mystery of His sacrificial love. This work invites quiet contemplation of the mercy of Christ, whose Heart remains open to sinners, the suffering, and all who seek refuge in Him.

Sacred Tradition

History & Devotion

Devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus honors the human Heart of Christ as a sign of His divine love, mercy, and self-giving sacrifice. Its roots are found in Scripture, especially in the pierced side of Christ on the Cross and the invitation to abide in His love. The devotion grew through centuries of Catholic prayer and was strongly promoted in the seventeenth century through Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque. The Church celebrates the Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus on the Friday after Corpus Christi, calling the faithful to reparation, trust, and deeper love for the merciful Heart of the Savior.

For Prayer

Prayer to the Sacred Heart of Jesus

Sacred Heart of Jesus, burning with love for us, draw my heart close to Yours. Teach me to trust in Your mercy, to receive Your forgiveness, and to love as You love. May Your pierced and glorious Heart be my refuge in sorrow, my strength in temptation, and my peace in every need. Amen.
