Catholic tradition honors him as a mighty defender against evil and a guardian of the faithful. His name means “Who is like God?”, a cry of humility before the Lord’s power. The Church celebrates Saint Michael with Saints Gabriel and Raphael on September 29, the Feast of the Archangels. Across centuries, Catholics have invoked his intercession for courage, protection, and perseverance in spiritual trial.
