The Blessed Sacrament shines from the heart of an ornate golden monstrance, filling the sanctuary with warm rays of Eucharistic light. Kneeling angels bow in adoration beside the altar, while candles and rising incense frame the scene with reverence. Above, Christ appears with the Sacred Heart, drawing the viewer’s gaze toward the mystery of His abiding presence in the Eucharist. History & Devotion
Eucharistic adoration flows from the Catholic faith that Jesus Christ is truly present, Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity, in the Blessed Sacrament. From the early Church’s reverence for the Eucharist, devotion grew into formal periods of prayer before the reserved Sacrament and, later, exposition in a monstrance. The Feast of Corpus Christi, established in the thirteenth century, gave special public honor to the mystery of Christ’s Eucharistic presence. In chapels and churches throughout the world, adoration remains a quiet school of love, where the faithful keep watch with the Lord, offering praise, reparation, thanksgiving, and intercession before Him.
